Writer's Block: The Final Frontier

Imagine a world without Star Trek. Is it a world you'd be very happy to live in, or a dark and terrible place?

...WTF?! See. I told you they were getting weirder!!!!

However, no Star Trek would probably equal no Firefly, and similarly equal no Mr Sulu on Heroes. And no tribble jokes.

And THAT would suck.

I think slash may have had some of its beginning with Star Trek, too.

I never watch Star Trek, but its influence is far reaching...

I could live in a world without Star Trek, but I am not willing to live in a world without George Takai as a cultural icon.

And perhaps *gasp* there wouldn't have been Reading Rainbow! At least not with Levar Burton hosting it...

A world without Star Trek would indeed be a terrible place.
How can we live without its pop culture significance?!
