However, no Star Trek would probably equal no Firefly, and similarly equal no Mr Sulu on Heroes. And no tribble jokes.

And THAT would suck.

I could live in a world without Star Trek, but I am not willing to live in a world without George Takai as a cultural icon.

And perhaps *gasp* there wouldn't have been Reading Rainbow! At least not with Levar Burton hosting it...
